Large Booking Request

Large groups at lunch bookings we ask to vacate by 4.30pm so we can get ready for dinner service. You're welcome to book any time from 12pm onward.

Saturday nights we run two sittings, so we can book you for 5.00pm, 5.30pm or 6.00pm and we'll need the table back just before 8.00pm, or we can book you for 7.30pm or 8.00pm, with no time limit.

Groups of more than 35 guests will be an exclusive use booking. When you have exclusive use there is not a venue hire charge, however there is a minimum spend requirement and it’s based on the revenue that we’d expect to take if we’re open for ‘business as usual'. We will be pleased to let you know this figure when you submit your enquiry.

We may ask for a deposit to secure your booking. In this instance, your booking is not confirmed until we receive the deposit, and we don't guarantee that the space will be available until a deposit is received. The easiest way to pay the deposit is by credit card which we'll process over the phone (no credit card information by email please, we value your privacy). You can also pay by bank transfer if you wish, let us know if that's better for you and we'll advise details.

We like to be flexible, and we like to be well planned. All menu and beverage details need to be confirmed at least 3 business days before your booking, the more notice the better.

Food

Bookings of 14 or more adults we will serve one of our group menus. All are served sharing style. If you have some children in the group, let us know how many, they can order from the kids menu on the day.

We don't take bookings for large tables of kids only, unless you're happy for them to have one of our group menus.

Bookings of 10-13 adults we are happy to serve one of our group menus, and we're happy for you to order from the menu on the day if you prefer.

If you have the Serious Sharing Menu, you don't need to make any other selections.

If you have the Pizza Pasta Menu, let us know your choice of:

• two types of pizza

• two types of pasta

• two types of salad/vegetable (from the Insalata/Contorni section)

If you've got vegetarian/pescetarian/no pork guests, make sure to consider these folks when you make your selections.

Dietary Requirements
Let us know dietary requirements and first name of these guests.

We can accommodate most dietary requirements including gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, nut and shellfish allergies. If you have anyone with more specific requirements, please let us know when you confirm your booking in case we can't confidently accommodate.

If you have more than one guest with the same dietary requirement, please ask them to sit near each other at the table, as they'll be served dishes to share.

Drinks
Drinks are on the second page of the lunch/dinner menu . Drinks are charged on consumption and we don’t offer beverage packages.

Groups of 20 or more guests please pre-select 2-3 wines and 1-2 beers so we have plenty on hand.

Sparkling and still water are served complimentary with group menus.

We will confirm with you if you are happy to have spirits and cocktails on the bill, or if guests should pay for these separately. If you don't specify, they'll be on the main bill.

BYO is available for groups of less than 20 people for lunch every day and dinner Monday-Thursday. BYO is $18 per bottle, wine/champagne only. No BYO for beer, RTDs or spirits.

We don't accept BYO for groups of 20 or more guests.

We don't accept BYO for groups at dinner on Friday/Saturday nights, or any time on public holidays.

Payment
We assume for group bookings that there will be one payment by card on the day. If you're wanting a different arrangement, let us know beforehand so that expectations are clear. We're happy to take more than one payment, we will give you the bill and you can work it out.

Exclusive use bookings we require one payment on the day for at least the minimum spend.

There's no service charge on group bookings unless you book the entire venue, so you're welcome to tip as you wish.

Confirm Numbers
We ask that you let us know where you are at with numbers when you confirm the menu details. You can make last minute changes to numbers up to 3 hours before the time of your booking. We'll charge you for numbers confirmed, or actual number of guests in attendance, whichever is greater.

Need a Cake?
We don't offer birthday cakes, so bring one if you wish. If it's to be stored in the freezer, let us know as freezer space is limited. Room temperature or fridge storage is easy.

We have candles to put into one of the desserts if that's easier for you.

Our group menus are plenty of food so if you're bringing a cake, don't go crazy on a huge one unless you're planning on taking leftovers home.

Decorations & Gifts
If you want to bring any decorations at all, please check with us first, we need to approve it before you have it out. No glitter, no confetti, no naked flames. If your decorations leave us with a mess or damage to our property, you may be charged for clean up. Flowers and balloons work well, let us know what you're thinking.

If you wish to leave anything at the end of an evening event, your items will be stored in the restaurant, to be collected before service the following day. Note that we use contract cleaners and we do not take responsibility for loss of any items. It’s best for everyone if you remove your property at the end of the event.

If you have a daytime event, all personal items will need to be removed at the end of the event, we do not offer overnight storage, nor do we take responsibility for any items left behind.

A couple of final notes

The bar will close at 11pm and guests are to vacate by 11.15pm.

We are at the bottom of a retirement village and it’s important to show consideration to our neighbours, especially when you’re departing. We do not allow DJs or live music in the venue. If you have exclusive use of the venue and you wish to have your own music for the event, let’s discuss. We do not have a microphone and if you wish to have one you will need to hire a microphone with PA. This applies only for exclusive use events also.

Note that for some dates, minimum spend will be higher, including Mother’s Day & Father’s Day, public holidays and the day before, City2Surf (2nd Sunday in August), Sculpture by the Sea (late October to early November), December 25-January 10.
